36 hours in Tokyo (part 3)

23:33

After our day of shopping we got dressed up and headed out for a date at the New York Bar at the Park Hyatt hotel in Shinjuku. This is the bar made famous by Lost in Translation and it has an amazing view of the Tokyo skyline. We were lucky enough to get a table by the window to watch the sunset an have a couple of delicious cocktails. The trick to this bar is to arrive and leave before 8pm, because after 8 they have a 2000 yen cover charge per person.

After the bar we headed back to Shibuya to meet an old friend of mine who happened to be in Tokyo at the same time, and we went to one of my old haunts, a chain izakaya called WaraWara 笑笑 where I was convinced to partake in nomihodai (all you can drink) for 2 hours. Definitely a mistake as I had a horrid hangover for the last morning! Oh well, it was a fun night overall, and a lovely lovely weekend. We're not likely to get another child free night or 2 together for a while.
